Safety & operations

Safety is a daily practice, not a promise

KRSTS follows structured operational practices designed to support safe and reliable student transportation — before every trip, during every route, and when something unexpected happens.

Before the trip

Vehicle readiness

Vehicles are prepared before service begins — cleanliness, seating, doors, lights, first-aid kit and fire extinguisher are part of routine readiness.

Preventive maintenance

Servicing is planned rather than left until something fails, reducing breakdowns during school hours.

Documentation & compliance

Vehicle documents — such as registration, fitness, permit and insurance — and driver licences are tracked, with expiry dates monitored ahead of time.

Driver & staff management

Drivers and conductors are assigned to routes, briefed on expectations for student conduct and handover, and supervised in their work.

During the trip

Daily operational checks

Each day begins with basic checks of vehicle condition and staff readiness before the first pickup.

Route discipline

Vehicles follow planned routes and stops. Changes are coordinated, not improvised.

GPS visibility

GPS-enabled vehicles allow our team to see vehicle movement and respond to delays.

When something happens

Emergency procedures

Staff know what to do and whom to call in case of a breakdown, accident, medical situation or unexpected disruption.

Parent communication

When there is a delay or change, the right people are informed through agreed communication channels.

Incident reporting

Incidents are recorded and reported to school management, so causes can be reviewed and addressed.

The specific safety practices for your institution — staffing, checks, communication and reporting — are set out in your proposal and reviewed with your management before service begins.
